Mentoring MUSE is the answer to a need in Ulster County for underserved women to receive meaningful, consistent support to become economically independent by following a roadmap to success. Mentoring MUSE provides a safe and inclusive environment that promotes confidence and self-esteem. The program offers 12 months of continuous support and encouragement through one-to-on mentorship, support groups, workshops, and mentoring think tanks (a monthly opportunity to learn from a panel of mentors). These resources help mentees develop important skills such as financial literacy and establishing healthy boundaries. The group serves as a safe space for personal growth and open discussions.
Mentoring helps women navigate workplace barriers and challenges, such as feeling isolated as a minority. Mentors can model character traits that can help mentees in times of crisis, such as honesty, perseverance, vulnerability, resilience, and adaptability. Our experience has been that when women discover and leverage their core values and passion, it propels them forward to become leaders in their field and give back to their community.
